NVIDIA releases Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe, an open speech model
NVIDIA's blog, dated 28 October 2026, says it introduced Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe that day. The post calls it an open-weight speech model for transcription, speaker attribution and translation, and for questions about the audio. It says the model transcribes 40 languages, including seven Indic languages, and that it is available on Hugging Face. It says the model has approximately 4.3 billion active parameters. Quantized versions are described as coming soon, for local use on RTX Spark, DGX Spark and Jetson AGX Thor, and for Blackwell data-centre GPUs.

The model card on Hugging Face gives the release date as 28 October 2026 on Build.Nvidia.com, GitHub, Hugging Face and NGC. Its summary table lists 34 billion total parameters, with 4.3 billion active, including the audio encoder. It lists a context length of 65,536 tokens and recordings of up to one hour. Inputs are audio and text, and the output is text. The licence named on the card is OpenMDW-1.1. The repository id is nvidia/NVIDIA-Nemotron-3.5-Transcribe-30B-A4B. The card's parameter table says 34 billion total, which is not the "30B" in that repository name.
What it means for business: the weights are open, so a developer can choose where a recording is processed. The card does not state a token price. Voice and meeting audio can be personal data, and the OpenMDW-1.1 licence is the one the card says governs use. The blog's ranking claims are NVIDIA's own.
