Reflection releases open weights for its 501B-parameter Beam model

Reflection released the weights of Beam, its first open-weight model, on Hugging Face as reflection/Beam-1.0-501B-A23B under the Apache 2.0 licence, together with a model card and a safety technical report. Beam is a sparse mixture-of-experts model with 501 billion total and 23 billion active parameters, built for coding, reasoning and agent work. Weights come in BF16, FP8 and NVFP4 formats, and the model is also offered through Reflection's API (public beta) and partners including AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Foundry and Databricks.

What it means for business: a permissively licensed large model that firms can host themselves; EU general-purpose AI rules may still apply to anyone who modifies and redistributes it.
