UK ICO secures changes from ten AI developers and opens agentic AI consultation
8 Oct 2026 · added 17 Oct 2026
The UK data regulator said ten foundation model developers, including Amazon, Anthropic, Google, Meta, Microsoft and OpenAI, made or committed to data protection changes. It also opened a six-week call for evidence on agentic AI and confirmed enquiries into recent agent testing incidents.
What it means for business: organisations using AI agents with personal data can respond to the call for evidence; it will inform a statutory code on AI and automated decisions.
